Our Programs
Observational learning is very important in the Suzuki approach to music education. Children (and adults) learn a great deal simply by watching others learn before trying a task themselves. We highly encourage new families to come and trial or observe our lessons. As a parent, this will give you the best idea of how our programme works and if it is the right fit for your family.

PRE-INSTRUMENTAL PROGRAM
”Learn to play, play to learn!”
This class is perfect for developing keen listening ears while we work on fine motor skills using various interactive activities. Singing, dancing, percussive instruments, and mallet instruments are used in the class.
Attending parents are taught in the class alongside their children to offer a strong support system at home to ensure continuous progress. Class is taught progressively as the students gradually advance to playing on a wooden violin/cello.

INSTRUMENTAL PROGRAM

Violin and Viola
The instrumental program includes two lessons per week: one 45-minute private lesson and one 45-min group lesson. Children learn from each other as well as the teacher, while the teacher empowers parents to assist their children with home practice. Parents also learn to play the instrument so that they can fully participate in all lessons and home practice, and create a musical and motivational family environment. We currently offer two instruments, the Violin and the Viola.
THE YOUNG VIRTUOSI PERFORMING ARTS PROGRAM
ABRSM Grade 5+ or Suzuki Book 4+

Established by Artistic Director Ruda Lee in 2023, Young Virtuosi stands as a groundbreaking force among music training institutions. Grounded in a shared passion for music, the program demands a deep commitment to artistic excellence and personal growth, offering students the invaluable opportunity of weekly rehearsals alongside industry professionals and exceptional peers.
These intensive 75-minute weekly lessons cater to the growing needs of the advancing students. We will introduce multi-voice and multi-instrument ensemble pieces, pieces outside of the Suzuki literature, and understand how to perform in a string ensemble.
Non-HKSMI students and string players are welcome!
