July 2022 Summer Courses

At HKSMI we believe that every child is musical and families bond by making music together! This 5-day, 45-minute class is a pre-instrument program for students and their parents. The core of the program is to instill a love of music, develop musical aptitude and strengthen familial bonds between parents and children through interactive activities. It teaches you and your child the fundamentals needed to be successful at violin, viola and cello lessons, while having fun together at the same time. The small group format allows the children to learn and observe from their peers, which are key elements to the Suzuki Method.

Course commencement is subject to enrolment. A minimum of 3 students will guarantee course commencement.

We aim to match similar aged children in a group as it is crucial for peer learning. Refer to the below age groups and their summer class schedules:

String Prep ages 4–6

This course is aimed at beginners with no prior string or music experience. It is tailored to the younger age group and we allow students from ages 4–6 to enroll.

String Prep Ages 7–9

This course is aimed at beginners with no prior string or music experience. For this group class aimed at slightly older students, we allow ages 7–9 to enroll.

Cello & Violin Summer lessons

These lessons are ideal for students who are already learning a string instrument and want to continue making supervised progress with our faculty members. Please contact us using the enrolment form for scheduling and sign up.
